Born on 28 July 1986. Dulquer also referred as “DQ” is the son of the legend Mammooty. Dulquer is one of the most talented and brilliant actors, who predominantly works in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. Salman has always impressed everyone with his amazing performances. And now he is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with Karwaan. Released in 2014, Njaan translated in English as “Me” is a Malayalam-language period fiction film directed by Ranjith. The movie stars Dulquer Salmaan, Jyothi Krishna, Anumol and Shrithi Ramachandran in lead roles. Its debut movie of Shruthi Ramachandran. The movie is based on the acclaimed novel K T N Kottur Ezhuthum Jeevithavum by T. P. Rajeevan, which is set in the backdrop of India’s freedom struggle and depicts a magical history of a village in Kerela. The film revolves around a youth named Ravi played by Dulquer Salman who is a journey blogger and travels to the village called Kottoor to trace the history of a man named KTN Kottoor again played by Dolquer Salman. The movie has a wonderful script presented on screen with the wonderful direction of Ranjith with the dedicated acting of Dulquer Salman. The movie was appreciated by audiences and critics upon release and also bagged several national and international awards, that includes Several Best actor awards for Dulquer for his wonderful performance. 2. Vikramadithyan

Released in 2014, Vikramadithyan is a Malayalam comedy-drama film co-produced and directed by Lal Jose. The film features Dulquer Salmaan, Unni Mukundan and Namitha Pramod in the pivotal roles. The films story is awesome, with lot of comic flavor added with a strict and heart touching script. Movie revolves around a police constable and a thief where both of them loves a girl, the girl choose the thief without the knowledge of his profession. On the other side the police constable marries someone else. Later, A boy is born in the family of thief named Adithyan played by Dolquer Salman and a boy is also born in police’s family , named Vikram played by Unni Mukundan. Now this two boys falls in love with same girl named Deepika played by Namitha Pramod. And this way the movie proceeds, with awesome comedy and an emotional touch. 3. Jomonte Suvisheshangal

Released in 2017, Jomonte Suvisheshangal, Translated in English as Jomon’s Gospels is a Malayalam family drama film. The movie is directed by Sathyan Anthikkad and written by Iqbal Kuttippuram. The film features Dulquer Salmaan, Mukesh and Aishwarya Rajesh, in the prominent roles. The movie focuses on its centrical character, Jomon played by Dulquer Salmaan, an irresponsible son of a businessman named Vincent played by Mukesh. The story focuses on the relationship between the father and the son. A father who wants his son to become responsible, but the son is totally stubborn and careless. As the movie goes ahead it is seen that there is some huge financial loses because of which Jomon joins a sales job and stood up to work hard to do something for his family. Released in 2017, Solo is a bilingual experimental anthology art film co-written, co-produced and directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The movie stars Dulquer Salmaan, Sai Dhansikaa and Neha Sharma in Lead Roles. The movie was Shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil. The movie tells the story of four different people, each story revolving around four different elements: Earth, Fire, Wind and Water, each with the different facets of Lord Shiva. A movie that explains about four different situations with references to Lord Shiva’s different facets. The movie is a royal form of art presented by Bejoy Nambiar on screen, it contains an interesting script that will keep audiences engaged with the movie. A movie that will make people relate with oneself and society around us is and wonderful creation of the Director. And with the dedicated contributions of the actors Solo becomes an amazing movie. Upon release, the movie received a positive response from critics and audiences. It is mentioned by Deepa Soman as ‘An experimental romantic thriller, Solo is the story of four different men, their love, rage, and afterlife. Through four elements – water, air, fire, and earth, they also represent different facets of Lord Siva.’

 

5. O Kadhal Kanmani

O Kadhal Kanmani Translated in English as, “Oh love, apple of my eye”,  also known as OK Kanmani, released in 2015 is a Tamil-language romantic drama film written, directed and produced by Mani Ratnam. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Prakash Raj, Nithya Menen and Leela Samson in the pivotal roles. The story about a young couple in a live-in relationship in Mumbai. Here Prakash Raj and Leela Samson play as an older couple in the film, who are the landlords of the younger couple played by DQ and Nithya Menen. The film was also mentioned as a reflection of modern India dealing with issues such as marriage and traditional values. The film is most popular for its music, that is composed by A. R. Rahman. The brilliant performance of the ensemble cast made OK Kanmani a huge commercial success and won positive reviews from critics, praising the performances and the quality of the film’s technical work. The film was later remade into Hindi as OK Jaanu in 2017. The movie won several national and International Awards.

 

6. Kammatipaadam

Kammatipaadam translated in English as The Tale of Blood and Fire. Released in 2016, Kammatipaadam is a Malayalam-language action drama film directed by Rajeev Ravi and written by P. Balachandran. The film features Dulquer Salman, Vinayakan, Manikandan R. Achari, Vinay Forrt, Shine Tom Chacko in prime roles. The film’s story revolves around Kammatipaadam, a slum locality in Kerala. It showcases on how the Dalit community people are forced to give up their lands to real-estate mafias and how modern Kochi city is made so developed to what it is today. The film begins with Krishnan played by Dolquer Salman, who works in a security firm in Mumbai. A call makes Krishnan travel to his hometown Kammati Padam. And while he is traveling Krishnan recalls all the problems that he had to face in his hometown. As the movie goes ahead we see a lot of problems faced by people of Kammati Padam that leads a person to step in to fight for the problems and give justice to the people. A film with a wonderful script and amazing performances of star cast makes it a beautiful movie on the screen. Vinayakan and Dolquer Salman’s performance is adorable and is loved by audiences and critics. 7. Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi

Translated in English as “Blue Sky, Green Sea, Red Earth”. Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, Released in 2013 is a Malayalam Road thriller film directed and co-produced by Sameer Thahir and written by Hashir Muhammad. The film features Dulquer Salmaan, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Sunny Wayne and Surja Bala Hijam in prime roles. The film revolves around Kasi played by Dulquer Salmaan and Suni played by Sunny Wayne who goes on a road trip from Kerala to Nagaland, to meet Kasi’s lover. The film connects socially with a romantic climax in the end. On the way, the duo learns about various issues that the nation is facing and are fighting to find out a solution to survive. The film showcases from modern culture to traditional beliefs, it also put forwards problems of Naxals and Social problems like riots in various places around the nation. The lead actors have done a brilliant justice with their roles and the director has presented the wonderful script in an amazing way which made people love this movie a lot. Released in 2014, Banglore Days is a Malayalam-language coming of age romantic drama film written and directed by Anjali Menon. The movie is co-produced by Anwar Rasheed and Sophia Paul with the banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainments and Weekend Blockbusters. The film stars an ensemble cast consisting of Nazriya Nazim, Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Parvathy, Isha Talwar and Nithya Menon. The story revolves around three cousins from Kerala who moves to Bangalore. The movie’s prime subject is about family and relationships. The story that connects to everyone with every family and its family members. The relationship and everlasting bond between cousins is portrayed in the movie in an amazing manner. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy in lead roles. The movie revolves around Tessa played by Parvathy, who switches to a new city where she takes a room, the room is so messed up and while cleaning it, she finds information about a very interesting character in a sketchbook named Charlie played by Dulquer Salman. Charlie’s interesting character makes Tessa go for a search to find out and meet Charlie at least once. On the way of her search, she acrosses numerous people whose problems are been solved by Charlie. A movie that is presented on screen with a brilliant script and dedicated performances of the cast is a must watch a movie of Dolquer Salman. The movie was praised by audiences and critics a lot. 10. Ustad Hotel

Released in 2012, is a Malayalam Drama film directed by Anwar Rasheed, written by Anjali Menon and produced by Listin Stephen with the name of Magic Frames. The film features Dulquer Salmaan, Thilakan and Nithya Menen in prominent roles. The movie explains a story about a young man named Faizal, known as Faizi, portrayed by Dulquer Salman, who wants to become a great chef and works in Switzerland, but his father seizes his passport to prevent him to get a Job in the UK. Because of which Faizi moves to Calicut to his Grandfather’s home, and starts working as a cook in a restaurant in run by his grandfather. As the movie proceeds, we see Faizi learns a lot of things and changes his thinking that makes him understand the real purpose of his profession. And he decides to work permanently in the restaurant. The film put forwards a number of social issues like poverty, under-privilege, and tensions between rich and poor. A must watch a movie that connects every human being socially and emotionally. Dulquer Salman has presented himself in a brilliant avatar that is appreciated by everyone. The movie won three National Film Awards that includes an award for Best Popular Film, Best Dialogues, and a Special Mention. It was later remade in Kannada as Gowdru Hotel (2017).
